An established firm based in New Orleans, LA with over 90 years in practice is seeking a Litigation Attorney with 3+ years of litigation experience to join their team onsite. This role focuses on medical malpractice and casualty defense, representing insurance carriers and healthcare providers in damages-driven litigation throughout Louisiana state and federal courts.
Offer: Salary range: $130,000-$175,000+ depending on experience

Qualifications: 3+ years of civil litigation experience, with medical malpractice defense or casualty defense strongly preferred
Familiarity with insurance defense work, damages analysis, and healthcare provider representation
Juris Doctorate and active Louisiana Bar membership in good standing
Law school transcripts required as part of the application
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills, with the ability to digest complex medical records and expert reports
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and professionalism in a deadline-driven environment
Responsibilities: Defending medical malpractice and casualty claims on behalf of insurance carriers and healthcare providers
Managing cases through all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation
Drafting motions, briefs, discovery responses, and dispositive filings
Conducting and defending depositions of parties, treating providers, and expert witnesses
Reviewing and analyzing medical records, expert reports, and damages documentation
Communicating regularly with clients, carriers, and adjusters regarding case strategy and exposure
Appearing in state and federal court for hearings, conferences, and trials as needed
