Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Commercial Dock & Door Inside Sales Representative to join our team! The Commercial Inside Sales Representative is responsible for supporting commercial dock and door sales operations by preparing accurate quotes, estimates, and proposals while driving revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. This role manages inbound sales inquiries, develops pricing for commercial projects, coordinates product ordering and project readiness, and serves as a key point of contact for commercial customers throughout the sales process.
The Commercial Inside Sales Representative will work closely with commercial customers, general contractors, facility managers, outside sales representatives, service and installation teams, manufacturers, and operations personnel to ensure commercial projects are accurately quoted, sold, ordered, scheduled, and completed. This role requires strong communication, organization, estimating, and customer service skills, along with a thorough understanding of commercial loading dock equipment, commercial door products, and installation processes.
Duties
- Support commercial dock and door sales operations and overall sales performance
- Respond to inbound sales inquiries by phone, email, and web leads, qualifying opportunities and converting them into quotes and orders
- Prepare accurate quotes, estimates, and proposals for commercial doors, loading dock equipment, parts, and installation services
- Review plans, specifications, and site information to develop accurate takeoffs, product selections, and pricing
- Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial customers, general contractors, facility managers, property managers, and referral partners
- Manage sales pipeline activity, quote follow-up, and lead management within company CRM systems
- Review and verify project details, measurements, product selections, and pricing accuracy before ordering
- Coordinate with purchasing specialist ordering of commercial doors, dock levelers, seals and shelters, vehicle restraints, operators, parts, and related materials with manufacturers and suppliers.
- Track product orders, lead times, delivery schedules, and installation readiness
- Coordinate with operations, warehouse staff, dispatch, service technicians, and installation teams to support timely project completion
- Support outside sales representatives and project managers with pricing, order entry, documentation, and customer communication
- Maintain accurate sales records, quotes, contracts, and customer documentation within company systems
- Monitor quote conversion rates, margins, and overall commercial sales performance
- Stay informed on industry trends, manufacturer products, pricing, and competitor offerings
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance in accordance with company standards
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to manage multiple quotes, projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously
- Proficiency with CRM and field service software, Microsoft Office, scheduling software, and manufacturer ordering platforms
- Ability to work collaboratively with customers, manufacturers, installers, and internal teams
- Commitment to professionalism, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction
- Self-motivated with strong accountability and follow-through
Qualifications / Requirements
- Prior experience in commercial door or loading dock sales, inside sales, estimating, construction sales, or related industries preferred
- Experience with commercial overhead doors, rolling steel doors, high-speed doors, dock levelers, seals and shelters, vehicle restraints, or related products strongly preferred
- Experience preparing quotes and estimates from plans, specifications, or field measurements preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in business, sales, construction management, or related field preferred
- Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
- Ability to manage customer relationships and support multiple active quotes and projects
- Strong computer proficiency including CRM and field service software, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, and ordering software
- Ability to occasionally visit customer sites or attend site walks as needed
- Ability to work flexible schedules to support customer and operational needs
- Ability to comply with all company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain in a stationary position, primarily seated at a desk, for prolonged periods of the workday
- Ability to operate a computer, telephone, and standard office equipment on a constant basis
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively by phone, email, and in person, including the ability to exchange accurate information with customers, vendors, and coworkers
- Visual acuity sufficient to read plans, specifications, product catalogs, computer screens, and detailed documentation
- Ability to occasionally move about the office, warehouse, and customer job sites, including walking on uneven surfaces and around active loading dock areas during site visits
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move items weighing up to 25 pounds, such as product samples, catalogs, and office materials
- Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, and climb stairs when visiting job sites or warehouse areas
Work Environment
- Work is performed primarily in a professional office environment with standard office equipment and moderate noise levels
- Occasional exposure to warehouse and job site environments, which may include moving vehicles and equipment, forklifts, active loading docks, elevated noise levels, dust, and variable temperatures
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when visiting warehouse or job site locations in accordance with company safety policies
- Occasional local travel to customer sites, job sites, or vendor locations may be required
- Work schedule is generally standard business hours with occasional flexibility needed to support customer and operational needs
