JOB
To assimilate, maintain and communicate accurate information regarding planning, development and building inspections.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Assist the public with obtaining the required documentation required in order to obtain a permits. Review documentation provided; obtain required approval and process permits.

Assist the Building Inspector and Fire Marshal to coordinate consultations or inspections.

Answer the telephone and provide assistance to the general public; provide information on departmental and city policies and procedures as required; assist in monitoring calls, visitors, and correspondence for department.

Prepare, type, word process and proofread a variety of documents including general correspondence, agendas, minutes, reports, permits, and registrations; enter a variety of data and information into various computer programs.

File documents, reports, and correspondence for department or assigned area; maintain filing system; assist in maintaining records for department.

Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner; provide information within the area of assignment.

Operate a variety of office equipment including telephones, computers, copy machines, and facsimile machines; input and retrieve data and text; maintain disk storage and scanning/filing for computer files.

Compile data and process forms and records; organize, retrieve and file records pertaining to assigned department or division.

As assigned, retrieve and sort incoming mail and dispatch outgoing mail; process bills and related correspondence for bulk mailing including preparing envelopes.

Order and maintain supplies for assigned department.

May be required to attend various meetings and record minutes. Meetings may be held after normal business hours.

Duties include scanning into Laserfiche and conducting searches as needed.

Perform additional duties as assigned.
