Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assemble components for menu items according to recipes and standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Support cooking processes by following instructions from chefs or kitchen managers
- Handle food safely during preparation, storage, and serving to prevent contamination
- Assist with meal assembly and plating for service periods, ensuring presentation quality
- Contribute to inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of supplies needed
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is highly desirable
- Knowledge of menu planning, food handling, and basic cooking techniques
- Experience in food service environments such as restaurants or catering settings
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with food preparation tools and equipment
- Understanding of food safety protocols and sanitation standards in the kitchen
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting culinary operations
