POSITION SUMMARY
Basis Health is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA) to join our growing mobile healthcare team. This position provides direct clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers while delivering high-quality patient care in assisted living communities, long-term care facilities, independent living communities, private residences, and other community settings.
The ideal candidate enjoys working independently, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about improving healthcare access through innovative mobile services.
This position requires daily travel and operation of company vehicles. Applicants must be at least 25 years of age and meet the requirements for coverage under Basis Health's commercial automobile insurance policy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Support
- Assist providers, nurses, and other team members during patient examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Obtain and accurately document vital signs, medical histories, chief complaints, and patient concerns.
- Prepare patients for examinations and treatments.
- Assist with pain management, urgent care, acute care, primary care, and follow-up visits.
- Perform specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and diagnostic testing as directed.
- Assist with wound care treatments and dressing changes.
- Administer injections and medications within scope of practice and state regulations.
- Assist with laboratory specimen processing and transportation.
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms and clinical supplies.
Mobile Healthcare Operations
- Travel daily to assisted living facilities, nursing facilities, private residences, and other patient care locations.
- Operate company vehicles safely and professionally.
- Assist with route planning and scheduling optimization.
- Ensure company vehicles remain clean, organized, stocked, and maintained.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies, equipment, and laboratory materials.
- Follow all infection control, safety, and emergency procedures in various healthcare settings.
Patient Care Coordination
- Communicate professionally with patients, family members, facility staff, and healthcare providers.
- Assist with referrals, scheduling, follow-up appointments, and patient education.
- Assist providers with obtaining records, consents, and other patient documentation.
- Facilitate communication between Basis Health and community partners.
Documentation & Compliance
- Accurately document patient encounters and services in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Ensure all required patient forms and consents are completed.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times.
- Follow all Basis Health policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff training programs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Current Arkansas Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or Medical Assistant (MA) certification/experience.
- Must be at least 25 years of age to operate company vehicles and qualify under Basis Health's commercial automobile insurance policy.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout Northwest Arkansas and surrounding service areas.
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to utilize electronic medical records.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism in all settings.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in primary care, urgent care, pain management, geriatrics, assisted living, long-term care, home health, or mobile healthcare.
- Experience with phlebotomy and specimen collection.
- Experience with wound care services.
- Experience with chronic care management or remote patient monitoring programs.
- Knowledge of Medicare and senior healthcare populations.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and assist patients throughout the workday.
- Ability to enter and exit vehicles multiple times daily.
- Ability to travel throughout assigned service areas.
- Ability to work in various healthcare and community environments.
