Position Summary:
As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) you will be responsible for providing professional counseling services to individuals, couples, families, and groups experiencing mental health challenges. You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and implement therapeutic interventions to support clients in achieving their mental health and wellness goals.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' mental health concerns, emotional needs, and treatment goals.
- Develop personalized treatment plans based on assessment findings and clients' strengths, preferences, and cultural backgrounds.
- Provide individual, group, family, or couples counseling using evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based therapy, or solution-focused therapy.
- Offer crisis intervention services to clients experiencing acute mental health crises or emotional distress.
- Educate clients about mental health conditions, coping strategies, and wellness practices to enhance self-awareness and resilience.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and healthcare professionals, to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including assessment notes, treatment plans, progress updates, and billing information, in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Advocate for clients' needs within the healthcare system and refer them to appropriate resources, such as psychiatric services, support groups, or community organizations.
- Stay updated on the latest research, therapeutic techniques, and best practices in counseling through continuing education and professional development activities.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and legal regulations governing counseling practice, including maintaining client confidentiality, obtaining informed consent, and addressing ethical dilemmas as they arise.
Qualifications:
- Master's or doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- State licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC), required.
- Experience providing counseling services to diverse populations, including individuals of different ages, cultural backgrounds, and socio-economic statuses.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport and trust with clients.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and empathetic manner.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical standards of practice.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-based environment.
Job Type: Full-time (This is a full time position with a minimum case load expectation of 20-25 clients)
Pay: $32.00 - $37.00 per hour
