Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this vital role, you will deliver high-quality patient care across diverse clinical settings, including acute care, primary care, geriatrics, and specialty areas such as gastroenterology, behavioral health, and esthetic laser treatment. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic and eClinicalWorks.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans encompassing medication administration, IV infusion therapy, suturing, catheterization, and wound care.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing sonography and laboratory experience; interpret ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation.
- Manage acute pain cases and provide specialized treatments such as botulinum toxin injections and dermal fillers within esthetic laser clinics.
- Assist with procedures including spinal taps, cardiac catheterization preparation, tube feeding management, and ventilator support in inpatient or outpatient settings.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, utilization review, and telehealth consultations to ensure seamless patient care transitions.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by ensuring the confidentiality of medical records and documentation accuracy.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives to advance evidence-based practices in internal medicine, emergency medicine, geriatrics, or behavioral health.
- Engage in triage activities for urgent care or emergency room cases; provide critical care support in Level I/II trauma centers or ICU environments.
- Support infection control protocols during sterile processing procedures; assist with specimen collection/processing for laboratory testing.
- Educate patients on health coaching topics such as nutrition, family planning, memory care for dementia patients, or occupational health strategies.
Experience
- Proven clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in diverse settings such as hospital medicine, emergency room (ER), ICU (Intensive Care Unit), or outpatient clinics.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
- Experience working with special populations such as pediatric patients (including toddler and neonatal care), geriatric patients in memory or hospice care programs, or individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Background in managing complex cases involving infectious disease care, acute pain management, dialysis support, or post-acute/sub-acute care environments.
- Familiarity with CPT coding for billing purposes; knowledge of Workers' Compensation law is a plus.
- Strong understanding of physiology knowledge and medical terminology essential for accurate patient assessment and documentation.
- Previous exposure to hospital settings such as Level I Trauma Centers or teaching hospitals enhances your ability to thrive in fast-paced environments requiring critical thinking and adaptability.
