The Vrakas CPAs + Advisors team is looking for a Senior Audit Associate to bring a unique spark to our talented assurance team based in our vibrant Chicago office.

The responsibilities, opportunities, and qualifications for this position are as follows:
- Lead and mentor associates as they complete audits and reviews
- Assist in the management and development of associates through the execution of assurance tasks
- Review other team members’ work and provide valuable feedback
- Build technical skills while working across various industries
- Regularly collaborate with shareholders, managers, and other internal leaders
- Understand the firm’s lines of service to provide a holistic service plan to each client
- Manage the engagement team on-site at client locations
- Work directly with controllers, CFOs, and business owners to ensure assurance engagements are completed within a predetermined timeframe
- Participate in various training and CPE programs to ensure professional development
- Travel is expected, as needed, to meet firm and client needs
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience providing assurance services in public accounting
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or a related field
- Must possess the necessary credit hours to be eligible for CPA licensure
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations
- Experience with Microsoft 365 with a strong understanding of Excel and Word
- Ability to address requests from clients and the firm in a timely, precise, and professional manner
- Ability to foster client relationships across various industries
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective in both independent work and team collaboration
- Ability to consistently perform services with integrity, reliability, and accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA designation
- 1+ years of proven supervisory or mentor experience
- Manufacturing, construction, distribution, real estate, or other related industry experience
- Passion for being a technical resource for team members
- Strong project management skills and a desire to drive process improvement
- Knowledge of Microsoft Teams and Zoom
- CCH accounting software experience, including Workflow, Engagement, and Practice Management
- Candidates with CPA credentials will be given additional consideration for this position.

Individual salaries are determined based on multiple factors, including the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and location.
