Job Summary
We're hiring an Event Development & Coordination Manager for RC Management Collective (RCMC), a boutique hospitality management company operating four distinctive New Jersey Shore properties — Hotel Albatross, Casa Del Mar, The Majestic Hotel, and The Hideaway. This is a foundational hire: you'll build our events function from the ground up, establishing the processes, vendor relationships, and playbooks that don't yet exist, while also running events day to day. The focus is on three core event types — corporate meeting groups, full-property wedding buyouts, and pop-up/experiential events — with ownership from first client conversation through vendor negotiation to day-of execution.
Responsibilities
- Stand up the events department: build repeatable processes, proposal templates, vendor lists, and budget-tracking systems for a function that hasn't existed at RCMC before
- Meet with clients to define event goals, scope, and budget — whether a corporate meeting group, a wedding buyout, or a pop-up concept — and advise on what fits best at each property
- Build proposals covering layout, menu, entertainment, and format for meeting groups, wedding buyouts, and pop-up events
- Manage wedding buyouts end-to-end: full-property logistics, vendor coordination, guest flow, and day-of execution
- Develop and pitch corporate meeting packages — space, AV, catering, and group room blocks — to win repeat corporate business
- Concept and execute pop-up events (seasonal activations, brand partnerships, one-off experiences) that drive visibility and new-guest traffic
- Negotiate vendor and supplier contracts for quality and rate
- Manage event budgets — track spend, control costs, and upsell upgrades to grow revenue per event
- Select and implement event management/CRM systems to organize schedules, client records, and communications
- Coordinate setup, technical needs, registration, catering, and guest services on-site
- Direct staff and vendors during events to keep service standards high
- Market events through social, email, and local partnerships to fill the calendar with meeting groups, buyouts, and pop-ups
- Run post-event reviews and apply feedback to improve future events and refine department processes
Requirements
- Track record in event planning or hospitality, ideally with direct experience in weddings, corporate/group meetings, or pop-up/experiential events
- Experience building or scaling an events function from scratch is a strong plus — comfort operating without an existing playbook
- Strong contract negotiation skills and vendor relationship management
- Demonstrated upselling success
- Comfortable in Microsoft Office and event management/CRM software
- Strong written and verbal communication; confident leading a team and managing clients directly
- Able to run multiple events at once under deadline pressure without dropping details
- Budget management experience — planning through execution, with a focus on cost control and margin
- Working knowledge of event marketing, including digital promotion
- Hospitality background strongly preferred; guest-service standards are non-negotiable here
This is a rare chance to build an events department from the ground up and shape how RCMC does meeting groups, wedding buyouts, and pop-up events across four properties along the Jersey Shore.
