Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines, including Fanuc-controlled equipment, ensuring proper calibration and alignment for each job.
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files to produce precise components.
- Program CNC machines using G-code and M-code, optimizing machining parameters for efficiency and quality.
- Perform tooling changes, machine adjustments, and calibration to meet tight tolerances using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process utilizing precision measurement instruments to verify dimensions and surface finishes.
- Maintain detailed documentation of machine setups, production runs, and inspection results for traceability and continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoot machining issues quickly by applying mechanical knowledge and manual machining skills on lathes or grinders when necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC milling machines.
- Strong understanding of CNC programming including G-code, M-code, and CAM software such as SolidWorks or other CAD/CAM tools.
- Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately for complex parts fabrication.
- Proficiency with measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines for quality control purposes.
- Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of machining tools, hand tools, grinders, lathes, and tooling setup procedures.
- Basic math skills including fractions, decimals, geometry calculations necessary for precise machining tasks.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction in production processes.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment while adhering to all safety protocols; forklift certification is a plus.
