Senior Estimator – Ground Up Construction
Location: Stamford, CT

A well-established General Contractor based in Stamford, CT is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their growing preconstruction team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional with strong experience estimating ground-up commercial projects.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing estimates for projects valued at $5M+ USD and be confident leading bids from conceptual budgeting through final submission.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed conceptual and hard bid estimates for ground-up construction projects
- Review drawings, specifications, and project documents
- Perform quantity take-offs and develop accurate project budgets
- Solicit and analyze subcontractor/vendor proposals
- Lead and manage the full bid process
- Work closely with project management and operations teams
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients
Requirements
- 5+ years of estimating experience with a General Contractor
- Strong background in ground-up construction projects
- Experience estimating projects valued at $5M USD and above
- Commercial construction experience required
- Knowledge of the Connecticut and Tri-State construction market preferred
- Proficient with estimating software and Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
