Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician with experience in extrusion blow molding (EBM) operations. This role is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of extrusion blow molding equipment and auxiliary systems to ensure optimal production efficiency and minimal downtime. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical and electrical background, as well as a solid understanding of EBM processes.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on extrusion blow molding machines
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues affecting production.
- Perform mold changes, alignments, and equipment calibrations to support production demands.
- Maintain and repair auxiliary equipment such as chillers, air compressors, and conveyors.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
- Record all maintenance activities in CMMS or logbooks.
- Assist in root cause analysis for equipment failures and propose long-term solutions.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for equipment reliability and performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and OSHA regulations.
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment as needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, specifically in extrusion blow molding or plastics manufacturing.
- Solid understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions quickly under pressure.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Preferred:
- Technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, electromechanical technology, or related field.
- Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
- Experience with PM systems and 5S or Lean Manufacturing practices.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
