Education and/or Experience

Education: Two-year technical degree in automotive technology, heavy-duty truck/engine technology, marine propulsion technology, or a related field. Applicants without a technical degree may be considered if exhibiting extensive and specific relevant work experience (>7 years).

Work Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of direct, relevant work experience in engine development and/or automotive testing with significant test equipment usage and support experience.

Good understanding of, and hands on experience with, engine testing and emissions analysis equipment is required.

Good understanding of, and hands on experience, with flow meters, pressure sensors, thermocouples, and RTDs is required.

Familiarity standards defined in EPA 40CFR1065 and specific test requirements in EPA 40CFR1045 for Marine Engines are preferred.

Familiarity and experience with electronic control systems and DC electrical systems, capable of reading and interpreting electrical schematics and diagrams is required.

Familiarity and experience with basic electrical diagnostic tools, capable of using multimeter and oscilloscope is required.

Familiarity with Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) fundamentals and ability to conduct engine teardown analysis is preferred.

Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Powerpoint) is required.

Familiarity with AVL tools and software suite is preferred.

Data acquisition and analysis tools such as DEWEsoft, LabVIEW, Matlab, and others are preferred.

Willingness to operate heavy equipment machinery such as forklifts, overhead cranes, etc. is required.

Good mechanical and electrical aptitude are required.

Professional representation and good customer service and support skills, including a “can do” attitude, is required.

Motivated, self-sufficient, technically-diverse, and easily adaptable is required.

Ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities is required.
