American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Telemetry (Night Shift) position at a Level 1 Trauma acute care hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of recent experience and the ability to pass a Relias Dysrhythmia exam prior to offer confirmation.

Acute care hospital setting, Level 1 Trauma center

D4 Neuro Telemetry unit with 28 beds
-
Patient population includes neuro post-surgical, post-craniotomy, spine, and CVA/post-TPA patients
-
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3–4; PCTs available at a ratio of 1 per 16 patients

Centralized telemetry monitoring; RNs must be able to interpret EKGs
-
Charting performed in Cerner
-
12-hour night shifts, 7p–7a
-
Every other weekend required
-
Travelers are first to float and may float to a sister facility
-
No ICP monitoring performed on this unit
-
Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy available 24/7
-
Hospitalist rounds during the day and is on call at night
-
No ventilator management required
-
13-week contract
-
Active AZ or Compact (NLC) RN license required; pending licenses not accepted

Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; pending certifications not accepted

Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required, with clinical activity within the past 6 months

Telemetry experience required, including EKG interpretation

Must pass the Relias Dysrhythmia exam (basic or advanced) within 48 hours of receiving an offer; maximum of 2 attempts allowed
-
2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, each including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (permanent address as listed on driver's license is used to determine eligibility)

Navy scrubs required

2-day floor-specific orientation provided
-
A Pass/Fail sterile technique exam is administered on the first day of orientation, covering Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes; study materials are provided in advance
-
COVID vaccination required, or a completed religious or medical declination form with appropriate documentation

Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside firms will be considered

Candidates who fail the Relias Dysrhythmia exam or the sterile technique test on the second attempt are ineligible for CommonSpirit Arizona positions for 6 months
