Responsibilities:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Mobile Crisis Supervisor will provide education, training, scheduling, and ensure 24-hour coverage for the Mobile Crisis Team. Ensuring the Mobile Crisis team will work with contracted hospitals when they identify a person in a psychiatric crisis that will require additional evaluation for psychiatric services. Ensuring the purpose of providing a professional assessment and triage to assist with further recommendation of services to the most appropriate, least restrictive treatment environment. Each patient and/or family contacting or referred to The Carle Emergency Department for psychiatric services shall be assessed by a Mobile Crisis Specialist. A licensed psychiatrist or other physician oversees triage and referral decisions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Screen and assess all patients ordered for screening and assessment by the assigned Carle Emergency Department M.D. by means of a face-to-face contact.

Respond to the ordering Carle Emergency Department via phone within 20 minutes and respond to Carle Emergency Department for screening within 60 minutes of the initial phone call.

Upon arrival to Carle Emergency Department, sign in on a log kept for audit purposes showing response times.

Provide triage service in a sensitive and responsive fashion.

Complete screening and assessment, including demographic and clinical information.

When necessary, interview the patient and/or significant others to explore alternative modes of care consistent with the least restrictive treatment model.

Consult with assigned Carle Emergency Department M.D.
- Be responsible for completion of screening and referral paperwork/assessment report.
- Data entry.

Locate available community resources for patients to obtain further necessary treatment.

Complete necessary paperwork and arrange acceptance and transfer of the patient for any required psychiatric or behavioral reasons.

Provide a copy of screening and recommendations to the Carle Emergency Department for inclusion in the patient’s medical record.

Projects a positive image of The Pavilion by being courteous, helpful, friendly and professional in relationships with patients, and their families, visitors, co-workers and the community.

Ensure 24-hour coverage for Mobile Crisis schedule

Complete Mobile Crisis payroll weekly

Provide education for Mobile Crisis Team

Precept new team members and complete Mobile Crisis orientation checklist

Ensure that all Mobile Crisis functions are completed prior to returning to the Intake Department.

Report on biweekly Mobile Crisis calls and dispositions

Collaborate with Business Development and Intake Director to identify new areas of growth.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree, Counseling, Social Work, or closely related field
Experience: Progressive experience in working in behavioral health environment required, 1 year experience preferred in crisis or assessment skills. Excellent communication and assessment skills.
Other knowledge/skills: Basic computer knowledge; Excellent communication and assessment skills.
Salary: Starting from $26.12 to $39.18 an hour
