Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs, ensuring a positive experience from entry to checkout
- Promote and sell our products and services by understanding customer preferences and offering personalized recommendations
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including processing cash, credit, and debit payments using cash registers or financial software
- Manage the cash drawer efficiently, ensuring proper cash handling, balancing at shift end, and maintaining accurate records
- Conduct retail math calculations for pricing, discounts, and sales promotions to ensure accuracy in transactions
- Assist with inventory management through data entry of stock levels, product placement, and stock replenishment
Experience
- Previous retail sales experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for customer service is essential
- Experience with retail store operations including cash handling, cashiering, or cashier training is advantageous
- Basic math skills are necessary for accurate cash management, pricing calculations, and data entry tasks
- Comfortable using financial software systems for processing transactions and managing customer accounts
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and build rapport with diverse clientele
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
