Position Summary
As a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) to provide skilled, hands-on therapy services. You will help residents improve mobility, maximize independence, reduce pain, and enhance their overall quality of life through individualized treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver prescribed physical therapy treatments to improve strength, mobility, balance, endurance, and functional performance
- Provide skilled therapy interventions under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist
- Assist with implementing and modifying treatment plans based on resident progress and clinical goals
- Monitor and document resident responses to treatment and functional improvements
- Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy goals, exercises, and mobility strategies
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with company, state, and federal requirements
- Communicate resident progress and concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist
- Collaborate with nursing staff and the interdisciplinary team to support resident-centered care
Qualifications
- Active Texas Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license
- In good standing with all applicable licensing boards and regulatory agencies
- Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, geriatric rehabilitation, or post-acute care preferred
- Familiarity with Net Health documentation software is a plus
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
- Passion for helping older adults maintain mobility, function, and independence
