Miami Valley Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Intervention Specialist to join our dynamic educational team. In this vital role, you will provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). This role ensures compliance with federal and Ohio special education laws while promoting student academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth. The Intervention Specialist collaborates with general education staff, families, and related service providers to deliver high-quality, inclusive educational services.
Duties
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with student needs and Ohio Learning Standards
- Provide specially designed instruction to students with mild/moderate and/or moderate/intensive disabilities
- Collect, analyze, and report student progress data to inform instruction and ensure IEP compliance
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and co-teaching models
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with state and federal requirements
- Conduct and participate in ETR (Evaluation Team Report) and IEP meetings
- Implement evidence-based interventions and behavior support plans
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs
- Ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented across settings
- Supervise paraprofessionals and coordinate classroom supports as needed
- Adhere to confidentiality standards and FERPA regulations.
- Data tracking and collaboration with the school General Education Teachers and District Representatives on implementing DEW's MTSS process.
- Ensure all Special Education Documents are compliant and align with DEW and IDEA mandates and protocols.
Requirements
- Valid Ohio teaching license as an Intervention Specialist (Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Intensive)
- Ability to work collaboratively in team-based educational settings
- Experience with MTSS, behavior intervention plans, and inclusion/co-teaching models
- Strong data collection and progress monitoring skills
- Daily upkeep of Service Logs.
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
