Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting freight safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to handle various types of trucks, including flatbeds, dump trucks, and refrigerated trailers.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles, including flatbed trucks, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and refrigerated trailers.
- Load and unload freight securely, ensuring all cargo is properly balanced and secured for transport.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes taken, and cargo delivered.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving on public roads.
- Manage manual transmission vehicles as required by specific routes or loads.
- Utilize forklifts when necessary for loading or unloading freight.
Experience
- Proven experience in truck driving with a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Familiarity with freight handling procedures and safety protocols.
- Experience operating various types of trucks including flatbeds, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and refrigerated trailers is preferred.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
- Previous experience in loading/unloading freight using forklifts is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving.
