Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Small Engine Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines and equipment on Honda, Cummins/Onan, Winco and Kohler gas and diesel generators as well as air compressors. Many of these generators and compressors are installed on trucks. Your expertise will help keep our customers’ work trucks and other small engines running smoothly. This position offers an exciting opportunity for those passionate about mechanical systems and eager to deliver exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. Must have your own tools.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose issues with small engines, including spark ignition, carburetors, fuel systems, and electrical components
- Perform repairs on a variety of small equipment like air compressors and generators
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, and engine tune-ups
- Read schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems effectively
- Use hand tools, power tools, and other specialized tools to complete repairs
- Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operation and safety standards are met
- Maintain detailed service records and communicate repair status clearly to customers or team members
Skills
- Proven experience as a service technician background in small engine repair or automotive/truck repair
- Strong mechanical knowledge of small engines, power generation systems, and mechanical systems repair
- Proficiency with schematics, electrical diagnostics, and troubleshooting electrical work on small engines
- Experience with diesel engine repair and heavy equipment maintenance is a plus
- Ability to handle manual tasks involving lifting safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with and own power tools.

Pay: $26.00 - $33.00 per hour
