Duties
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols
- Support residents with memory care needs related to Alzheimer's disease and dementia by implementing personalized care strategies
- Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to transfer clients with mobility challenges
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary requirements and assist with feeding when necessary
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through routine cleaning and sanitation tasks
- Document care activities accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and report any changes in condition to supervising staff
- Engage residents in social activities to promote mental well-being and social interaction
- Follow emergency procedures including first aid and CPR when required to ensure safety during incidents
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred
- Proven background in caring for seniors or individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, or other cognitive impairments
- Familiarity with medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and basic first aid/CPR certification is essential
- Hands-on experience with manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies for residents with challenging behaviors or memory issues
- Experience working with EMR systems for documentation and record keeping is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physically demanding tasks regularly
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals
