Sporcle Events — the nation’s largest trivia company — is hiring an outgoing, reliable host to run weekly trivia nights at local bars and restaurants.
You bring the personality. We bring the game. Players bring the chaos. You keep it fun.
Yes — you really do get paid to host trivia.
No — it’s not “just hanging out.” You’re a Sporcle employee running the show.
**We have an opening for a weekly position on Tuesday evenings in Luna Pier! **
**You'll start at 6:15 pm & work ~3 hours. Pay starts at $60 for the night.**
What You’ll Do
We invest in your success through comprehensive paid training, which includes reading our Host Guide and successfully completing quizzes pertaining to the material. Because our hosts represent Sporcle at live events, successful completion of training is required before hosting your first show.
- Lead a fast-paced, high-energy trivia event from start to finish
- Speak clearly and confidently on a microphone, projecting your voice clearly and effectively so the whole room can follow the game
- Keep teams engaged, organized, and on schedule
- Set up and break down equipment
- Solve small tech hiccups and think on your feet
- Work professionally with venue staff and create a memorable guest experience that keeps players coming back
What You’ll Need
- Be 21+ years old
- Laptop with HDMI port
- Ad-free Spotify or Apple Music
- Ability to consistently arrive on time and transport event equipment (~35 lbs.) to assigned venues
- **Sporcle does NOT offer seasonal/summer employment**
You’re a Great Fit If You’re
- Dependable (if you’re hosting, you show up prepared and ready to start trivia at the scheduled time)
- Comfortable interacting with people, speaking to groups, and projecting your voice clearly
- Outgoing, quick-thinking, and confident in front of a crowd
- Tech-comfortable and calm under pressure
- Experienced in hosting, teaching, radio, events, or public speaking (helpful, not required)
- Comfortable learning new material independently and completing paid online training.
- Able to meet onboarding and training deadlines.
- Responsive to email and text communication during onboarding.
