Responsibilities
- Assist with menu planning to ensure balanced, appealing meal options that meet dietary needs and preferences
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area
- Serve meals efficiently while providing excellent customer service to guests or residents
- Maintain accurate records of food inventory, storage, and safety compliance
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely meal delivery
- Prepare and serve bedtime snacks.
- Be sure that appropriate equipment and utensils are provided with the resident's meal tray.
- Review care plans to assure that current dietary information is consistent with foods served.
- Prepare and serve substitute foods to residents who refuse foods served.
- Follow established Infection Control and Universal Precautions policies and procedures when performing daily tasks.
Skills
- One (1) year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred (but not necessary).
- Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide within healthcare or hospitality settings
- Strong background in menu planning, meal preparation, and food presentation
- Knowledge of food handling regulations, sanitation standards, and safe kitchen practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and serve customers effectively
