Position Summary: Facility Maintenance and Custodian
Oak Creek Travel Plaza is a high-volume, 24-hour travel plaza serving hundreds of travelers daily. We are looking for hard-working Maintenance and Custodial Associates for our AM and PM shifts. This role combines everyday indoor cleaning with commercial outdoor equipment operation to keep our fuel lanes, walkways, and store pristine. Key Responsibilities:
- Strict Hourly Sanitation: Clean, sanitize, and restock high-use multi-stall restrooms and professional driver shower facilities on a strict hourly schedule to meet strict plaza hospitality standards.
- Power Equipment Operation: Operate commercial power washers and motorized floor scrubbers.
- Exterior Heavy Cleaning: Blast away oil stains, grime, and debris from fuel islands, sidewalks, entryways, and dumpster pads using high-pressure sprayers.
- Heavy Trash Management: Lift, transport, and empty large, heavy outdoor waste bins into outdoor dumpsters.
- Indoor Sanitation: Sweep, mop, and deep-clean high-traffic retail aisles, food court areas, restrooms, and driver shower suites.
- Safety & Chemical Use: Mix and apply heavy-duty degreasers and cleaning chemicals safely using required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Physical Requirements:
- Heavy Lifting & Physical Power: Must be able to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds (trash bags, chemical drums, and equipment attachments).
- Stamina & Grip: Physical strength to handle the high-pressure kickback of a power washer and stand/walk for an entire 8-hour shift.
- Outdoor Work: Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
Qualifications:
- Time Management: Excellent time-management skills to consistently stick to strict hourly bathroom maintenance checklists.
- Experience: Prior experience operating power washers, floor buffers, or similar commercial cleaning machinery is highly preferred.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Basic equipment troubleshooting knowledge (e.g., clearing nozzles, checking oil/fuel levels).
- Reliability: Reliable transportation and punctual attendance for 24/7 rotating schedules (including weekends/holidays).
- Age Requirement: Must be 18 years or older to operate heavy machinery and compactors.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
