About Us
Schlaegle Design Build is a Pittsburgh-based custom architectural millwork and cabinetry manufacturer, and we're hiring a full-time Delivery Driver and Warehouse Material Handler for our Pittsburgh team. You'll split your time about 50/50 between driving a 26' box truck to local build sites and working in our warehouse moving and handling materials — no CDL required, just a valid PA driver's license and a clean driving record.
We started out in 2011 in a home basement with nothing but a miter saw, and we've grown into one of the fastest-growing companies in the region! That growth happened because our people take ownership of their work, and we're looking for someone who'll do the same in our warehouse and on the road.
What You'll Do
- As our dedicated driver you'll operate a 26' box truck (with liftgate) to our customers’ build sites, delivering finished products and materials. All local routes!
- Load and unload product carefully — this is custom, high-end architectural woodwork and cabinetry. Dents, scratches, and damage are expensive mistakes we can't afford.
- Operate a forklift to move materials and products within the company (Production and Warehouse) in support of a team of skilled carpenters.
- Own Bill of Lading (BOL) accuracy and raise issues quickly to Warehouse Manager before it becomes a problem and prevent repeated trips.
- Work closely with Warehouse Manager to keep production supplied, keep the warehouse squared away, and maintain accurate inventory counts.
- Support inventory accuracy with routine cycle counts and audits.
- Support continuous improvement projects and be a part of our success.
- 50/50 split between driving and internal material support responsibilities.
What You Need to Bring
- Valid PA driver's license and a clean driving record (no CDL needed).
- Forklift certification is a plus — if you don't have it, we'll get you trained & certified.
- Able to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally as a team lift.
- A self-starter who can work independently and stay sharp on the little details.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment where things change often.
- Construction or millwork experience is a plus, but not required.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and DOT-required drug screening.
