About Us
We’re a leading roofing and waterproofing company serving commercial properties and HOAs throughout San Diego. We’re looking for a people-focused, highly organized professional who thrives on building relationships, representing the company at events, and supporting our sales team — with social media and marketing as part of the role, not the entire focus.
Company Description Alta Roofing & Waterproofing Inc. is a commercial roofing and waterproofing contractor serving San Diego County. The company focuses on delivering durable, high-quality solutions for commercial and HOA properties with diverse roofing and waterproofing needs. Team members collaborate closely with clients to provide reliable service, safety-conscious work practices, and long-term protection for buildings. The organization values professionalism, responsiveness, and strong relationships with property owners, managers, and construction partners. Joining the team offers opportunities to contribute to growth in a specialized, regionally focused industry.
This is a field-driven, relationship-first role not a desk-and-social-media job. Most of your success will come from getting out, attending industry events, and building real connections that drive business. We’ll teach you our industry and our products, but you should already know marketing and business development, and be confident using AI to work smarter. If you’re looking for a purely social media or digital marketing role, this isn’t it.
We’re looking for an outgoing, experienced marketing and business development professional who knows how to hit the pavement. Your primary mission is to get our company in front of the right people — attending industry events, building relationships with property managers and facility decision-makers, and supporting our sales team in the field. This is not a digital ad agency or social-media-only role. Social media and content are part of the job, but success here is measured by the connections you build and the doors you open. If you thrive on networking, events, and real-world relationship building, you’ll fit right in.
What You’ll Do
Events & Business Development (Your Top Priority)
- Actively attend industry events, conferences, and chapter meetings — including organizations like IREM, IFMA, CAI, CACM, and BOMA — to represent our company and build relationships
- Research and identify new events, trade shows, and associations that could generate business for a commercial roofing company, and recommend where we should show up
- Monitor key industry organization calendars so we never miss a high-value event
- Network in person with property managers, facility managers, and decision-makers to open doors for the sales team
- Register team members and coordinate booth setup, giveaways, and printed materials
- Plan and execute lunch-and-learns and key client lunches
Client & Warranty Follow-Up
- Track customer warranties and follow up monthly on preventive maintenance schedules
- Support the sales team by tracking proposed work and jobs in progress, and keeping clients updated
Marketing & Brand
- Create and refresh printed marketing materials while keeping the brand consistent across all collateral
- Write one monthly blog post to support SEO and assist with monthly email newsletters
- Design and send monthly mass email campaigns (Constant Contact)
Social Media & Content (Part of the Role, Not the Focus)
- Manage our Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook accounts, posting at least 2x/week on each
- Develop a monthly content calendar and submit it for approval a week in advance
- Gather content from completed, in-progress, and awarded jobs to share online
- Capture one customer testimonial per month and schedule drone footage for project highlights
Special Projects
- Help design and deliver annual client gifting campaigns
- Manage marketing giveaways and promotional item orders
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of marketing and business development experience, with a proven track record of generating leads and relationships through in-person networking and events
- Genuinely outgoing and confident — you enjoy walking into a room full of strangers and leaving with new connections
- Comfortable representing the company in person at industry events and associations (experience with IREM, IFMA, CAI, CACM, BOMA, or similar a strong plus)
- Able to independently run social media, content, and email campaigns with minimal oversight — these support the role but are not the focus
- Comfortable using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, and similar) to create content, streamline marketing workflows, and improve efficiency — and able to identify new ways AI can support the company’s marketing and operations
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Proficiency with email marketing platforms (Constant Contact or similar) and design tools (Canva or similar) — no ramp-up required
- Strong organizational and project-management skills across many simultaneous priorities
- Industry experience in construction, roofing, property management, or B2B services strongly preferred
