Empower Kids OT is a therapist-owned occupational therapy practice specializing in providing in-home pediatric OT. We have clients waiting and are looking for a licensed NY OT who wants meaningful, flexible work.
This is a contract (1099) opportunity.
What you'd be doing
- Providing 1:1 60-minute occupational therapy treatment sessions to clients in the Onondaga County area (in-home).
- Our therapeutic model includes spending 30 minutes of the session providing treatment to the child, and the remaining 30 minutes of treatment time to be spent providing parent/caregiver/family education and involvement and hands-on training
- Performing occupational therapy evaluations
- Working with a mixed caseload of children with developmental and sensory differences who are experiencing difficulty functioning in their home or community settings (caseload can be targeted toward your specialties and areas of competence)
- Setting your own schedule directly with families
- Documenting sessions in our practice management system (we'll train you)
What we handle for you
- Practice management software access
- All marketing and referral generation - you get to focus on the clinical work
- Client payment collection and insurance processing
- Client onboarding paperwork and prescription requests
Compensation & schedule
- $100 per completed 60-minute treatment session
- $200 per completed evaluation
- Must maintain at least 2 sessions/week
- You will have the option to grow your caseload as demand in your area allows (up to 25 sessions per week)
- You choose your own hours - evenings, weekends, mornings, whatever fits your life and works with the client's schedule
What we're looking for
- Active NY State Occupational Therapist license (required)
- At least 3 years of pediatric occupational therapy experience (required)
- Own professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain - we can point you to affordable options)
- All-season reliable transportation to in-home sessions in the Onondaga County area
- Comfortable working independently with families in their homes
- Warm, family-centered approach
Nice to have
- Sensory integration training or certification, or specialized knowledge in the pediatric treatment domain
- School-based OT, early intervention, outpatient pediatric OT, hospital pediatric OT, or other pediatric OT background.
