R.G. Huston Company, Inc. is an east side of Madison construction company looking for a Senior Job Cost Accountant. JOB SUMMARY: The Job Cost Accountant role is responsible for managing accounts of various construction projects by setting up jobs, overseeing supplier contracts, managing material inventory, and verifying invoices. Our ideal candidate should display excellent business acumen and the ability to minimize production costs through efficient accounting. Must be detail oriented with an elevated level of financial accuracy.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Set up Jobs and Pay Applications.
· Perform accounting duties throughout the projects, such as issuing subcontract and material invoices, maintaining material inventory, approving invoices, verifying Accounts Receivable, issuing purchase orders.
· Work closely with Project Managers to ensure accurate, timely and consistent financial billing and reporting.
· Job related month end accounting processes
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
· Cost analysis and implementing cost-saving and profitable solutions for job operations.
REQUIREMENTS:
· A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related fields.
· Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst (CCEA) is preferred.
· Previous experience in construction cost accounting, budgeting, and project management.
· Working knowledge of the construction industry.
· Ability to lead and work well with Project Managers and Assistants.
· Solid analytical and mathematical skills.
· Meticulous diligence and an elevated level of accuracy.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to multitask and thrive in a challenging environment.
· Familiarity with accounting software Sage/Timberline.
· Advanced knowledge of Excel.
