Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to strict food safety and sanitation protocols
- Assist with meal preparation, including slicing, dicing, portioning, and plating food items with precision using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate orders, communicate special requests, and ensure timely service
- Follow safety standards in production to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for all team members
- Support catering events or special functions by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality control
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with a strong foundation in culinary techniques
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to health regulations
- Skilled in food handling, recipe adherence, and meal preparation to meet dietary needs and specifications
- Experience with dietary department procedures or dietary aide responsibilities is a plus
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams
- Familiarity with menu planning, food industry standards, and catering experience preferred
- Strong knife skills along with proficiency in slicing techniques for efficient food prep
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment where safety standards are prioritized
