Job Summary:
- We are looking for a Hand Soldering Technician with experience in hand soldering electronic components.
- In this role, you will solder, repair, and inspect printed circuit boards (PCBs), wire harnesses, and electronic assemblies while following quality and safety standards.
- The ideal candidate has 2+ years of soldering experience, knowledge of IPC-A-610/IPC‑J‑STD‑001 standards, and strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hand soldering, de-soldering, and rework on PCBs, wire harnesses, and electronic assemblies.
- Use soldering irons, hot-air rework stations, and other hand tools to complete assembly and repair work.
- Inspect solder joints to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Perform basic testing and report any defects or quality issues.
- Complete production records and repair documentation accurately.
- Maintain soldering equipment and keep the work area clean and organized.
- Follow ESD, safety, and cleanroom procedures when required.
- Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to resolve production issues.
- Support process improvements and help train new technicians when needed.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of hand soldering experience in electronics, aerospace, defense, or medical device manufacturing.
- Experience with IPC-A-610/IPC‑J‑STD‑001 standards is required.
- Experience with hand soldering, de-soldering, PCB rework, and component replacement.
- Ability to use soldering irons, hot-air rework stations, and de-soldering tools.
- Must be able to consistently produce high-quality solder connections that meet electronics manufacturing standards.
- Ability to read assembly drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Knowledge of ESD practices and electronic assembly standards.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally.
- Comfortable working with soldering equipment while using required safety equipment.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environment if needed.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- IPC-J-STD-001 certification.
- Experience working in AS9100 or ISO 13485 manufacturing environments.
- Experience working in cleanroom environments.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective actions.
