American Traveler is hiring a travel Nurse Manager for a Trauma ICU (TICU) position at a Level II Trauma Center in Reno, NV, requiring 5+ years of managerial experience in a Level I or II facility and critical care/ICU background.

Position is based in the TICU (ICU Sierra S1) department of a Level II Trauma Center and the only trauma center between Sacramento and Salt Lake City
-
Facility is a large regional medical center treating over 80,000 ER and trauma patients annually, also home to a children's hospital, robotic surgery institute, and comprehensive heart and cancer services

Shift is typically Monday–Friday, 8a–5p or 7a–4p, with occasional on-site presence outside those hours based on business needs

40-hour work week; schedule may vary and can include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts

One additional shift pick-up required during the contract period

Floating to other areas of the organization may be required up to competency level

Epic EMR used for charting; training provided during orientation or candidates may test out

Active NV RN license required; candidates who have never held a NV temp or permanent license may still apply but must begin the application process immediately upon offer

Current BLS certification (AHA only) required; professional certification preferred

Minimum 5 years of managerial experience at a Level I or II facility required

Critical Care/ICU experience required

Must be able to provide direct patient care when unit demands require it

Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position

Responsible for 24-hour oversight of patient care delivery, including staffing, budgeting, and operational performance in compliance with Federal, State, Joint Commission, and/or CARF standards

Accountable for hiring, training, counseling, evaluating, and guiding staff professional growth

Acts as a change agent and transitional leader, fostering evidence-based nursing practice and a learning organization culture

Maintains relationships between physicians, the community, and the hospital while ensuring cost-effective, high-quality patient care

Minimum of 2 major holidays required during the contract

Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must take a 13-week break after their contract ends before returning

Blocked scheduling is not permitted

RTO must be declared prior to submission; time is not added to the end of the contract to compensate for approved time off
