Moorefield Construction Inc. has been in business for over 65 years, performing commercial construction of large retail centers, theaters and entertainment complexes, casinos, hotels, and a variety of other commercial projects, including work on tribal projects. We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Project Accountant with a strong background in construction accounting.
This role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented professional with experience in Sage 300/Timberline, Timberscan, and Procore. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing multiple projects and working closely with project teams, subcontractors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable invoices, including subcontractor billings and general conditions
- Prepare and track accounts receivable, including AIA owner billings and supporting documentation
- Manage preliminary notices and lien releases
- Ensure contract compliance, including tracking insurance, licenses, and required documentation
- Process and track project-related tax requirements, including sales tax and use tax considerations
- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and clients regarding billing and payment status
- Maintain accurate project financial records in Sage 300/Timberline
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of construction accounting experience
- Proficiency in Sage 300/Timberline and Timberscan (Procore experience preferred)
- Experience with AIA billing and construction accounts payable/receivable
- Knowledge of lien releases, preliminary notices, and contract compliance requirements
- Experience working on tribal projects and familiarity with tax-exempt construction environments strongly preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
