Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards across subjects such as literacy, math, science, and social studies.
- Foster a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies that promote respect, cooperation, and enthusiasm for learning.
- Utilize learning technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and understanding.
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparation and tutoring sessions.
- Support early childhood education principles and adapt teaching approaches for students with diverse needs, including those with autism or requiring special education accommodations.
- Mentor students individually or in small groups to improve literacy skills, writing skills, numeracy, and social-emotional development.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, school activities, and education administration tasks to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
- Maintain detailed records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral incidents while ensuring compliance with school policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; additional certification in elementary education is preferred.
- Proven classroom experience with children of early childhood age groups; private school experience is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Knowledge of childhood development theories and early intervention strategies to support diverse learners.
- Proficiency in using learning technology tools and library services to enrich classroom activities.
- Experience in curriculum development, lesson planning, proofreading educational materials, and standardized testing procedures.
