About the role
We are a liquor store in Raytown, MO looking for a dependable and customer-friendly Cashier to join our team. You will be the face of our store — processing transactions, keeping shelves stocked, and making sure every customer leaves with a great experience.
What you'll do
- Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, attentive service
- Operate the POS/cash register accurately — handle cash, credit/debit cards, and EBT transactions
- Verify customer age (21+) per Missouri state law before selling alcohol or tobacco products
- Maintain a clean, organized counter and sales floor throughout your shift
- Restock shelves, coolers, and display areas as needed
- Assist with Missouri Lottery ticket sales and payouts (training provided)
- Reconcile cash drawer at the start and end of each shift
- Follow all store safety, loss prevention, and compliance procedures
- Report any maintenance, safety, or inventory concerns to the manager
What we're looking for
- Must be 21+ for alcohol sales compliance
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Basic math skills and comfort handling cash
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
- Availability to work weekends and holidays
- Prior retail or cashier experience preferred but not required — we will train the right person
Nice to have
- Experience in a gas station, convenience store, or liquor store
- Familiarity with Missouri liquor compliance and age verification laws
