Title: Systems Engineer ~ DevOps System Automation
Location: National Capital Region
Clearance: TS/SCI with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph
Job Details:

Work independently to analyze user requirements, CONOPS, and system architectures to develop system requirements and solutions

Lead system design, development, and engineering activities, including feasibility studies and analysis of alternatives

Provide technical leadership across system integration, architecture, and implementation efforts

Design and implement scalable hybrid/multi-cloud architectures across Azure, AWS, and GCP
-
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI) and manage containerized platforms (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm)
-
Apply Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and Configuration as Code (Ansible) to automate deployments and operations
-
Develop scripts (Bash, PowerShell, Python) and implement secrets management solutions

Support distributed systems, including stateful services, system integration, and global load balancing

Incorporate Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) principles and ensure secure, resilient system design
-
Develop architecture documentation, diagrams, SOPs, and security documentation
-
Guide system implementation planning, testing, and lifecycle optimization, including trade studies
-
Ensure technical integrity of deliverables and resolve complex system issues
-
Communicate with government stakeholders and deliver executive-level briefings

Lead design efforts, mentor junior staff, and support high-risk or complex programs
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institute in a technical discipline; an additional 4 years of may be substituted in lieu of a degree

Minimum eight (8) years of directly related experience
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration (Kubernetes/Docker), and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)

Proficiency with Terraform (IaC), Ansible (CaC), and scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python)

Experience with distributed systems, automation, and secure architecture (including ZTA and secrets management)

Strong background in system integration, architecture design, and technical documentation

Must possess current DoD 8570 IAT II and Microsoft Certified Professional (or equivalent) certification

Experience working in a DoD or IC environment desired

Current active TS/SCI clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph
