We are growing and looking for a hands-on Logistics Operator to manage day-to-day shipment execution across drayage, OTR, and warehouse operations while delivering responsive, high-quality service to our customers.
Role Overview
This is a mid-level execution role, ideal for someone with 3–5 years of logistics or transportation operations experience who enjoys dispatching, shipment coordination, and customer communication.
You will own daily shipment execution from order entry to proof of delivery, working closely with drivers, carriers, warehouses, and customers to keep freight moving on time. This role does not manage people but plays a critical role in daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
Drayage / Port Operations
- Coordinate container pickups and returns at ports, rail ramps, and container yards
- Schedule terminal appointments and manage chassis usage, empty returns, and per diem/demurrage risk
- Track vessel ETAs, container availability, and last free days; proactively flag exceptions
OTR / FTL / LTL /Specialized Operations
- Dispatch and coordinate FTL/LTL/Specialized shipments with company drivers and partner carriers
- Track and trace shipments in transit; provide timely status updates and manage delivery exceptions
- Collect and file PODs, BOLs, and related shipping documentation
Customer Service & Order Management
- Enter and manage orders in the TMS; maintain accurate shipment records
- Serve as day-to-day contact for assigned customer accounts; respond promptly to inquiries
- Handle exceptions (delays, damages, accessorials) and drive them to resolution
- Support billing by verifying rates, accessorial charges, and documentation accuracy
Warehouse / Transload Coordination
- Schedule warehouse receiving, transloading, and outbound shipments
- Coordinate with warehouse teams on inventory accuracy, loading plans, and shipping priorities
General
- Participate in weekly operations meetings and continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
- 3–5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations
- Hands-on experience in at least two of the following: drayage/port operations, OTR (FTL/LTL) dispatch, warehouse or transload coordination
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese (written and verbal)
- Strong communication, follow-up, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities under time pressure
- Proficient in Excel and standard office tools
Preferred:
- Experience with TMS, WMS, or ERP systems
- Knowledge of LA/Long Beach port procedures, terminal appointment systems, and chassis pools
- Experience supporting project or renewable energy freight
Compensation & Growth
- Base Salary: $50,000 – $65,000 / Yearly
- Work visa sponsorship (e.g., H-1B) available for qualified candidates
- Clear growth path to Senior Operator or Operations Manager roles
