Job Summary
Cornerstone Therapeutic Community provides high-quality mental health services in a structured, supportive residential environment. The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides direct care and support to individuals receiving mental health and/or substance use treatment services. This role assists clinical staff in maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment while supporting people with daily activities, monitoring behaviors, and implementing treatment plans.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
· Assist with group activities and therapy sessions
· Support medication management
· Maintain HIPAA-compliant records
· Monitor vital signs
· Assist with crisis intervention
· Provide direct supervision and monitoring of patients to ensure safety and well-being.
· Observe, document, and report patient behavior and mood.
· Assist in implementation of treatment plans.
· Facilitate or assist with activities and therapeutic groups.
· Maintain a structured and supportive environment.
· Perform safety checks and monitor for contraband.
· Respond to crisis situations using de-escalation techniques.
· Ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols.
· Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers as needed.
· Support medication observation as applicable.
· Communicate effectively with team members.
· Maintain HIPAA compliance.
Education and Qualifications Required
· 1+ year mental health experience
· Adult CPR/First Aid certification (AHA, Red Cross, or Medic)
· High school diploma or GED
· Ability to pass background checks and drug screening
- Medication technician experience, preferred
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
