Portland Community College’s Nursing Program is a regional leader in educating the next generation of Registered Nurses. We are currently seeking a faculty member with strong clinical knowledge and experience who can balance academic rigor with practical application and is passionate about teaching learners from diverse backgrounds.

Position Success Criteria
In addition to the minimum instructor qualifications, we are seeking candidates that meet the following success criteria.:
- Interest in teaching 1st and 2nd year nursing students in theory courses, skills lab, Simulation labs, and clinicals
- Demonstrated commitment to transparent and respectful communication, openness to feedback, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent time management skills that translate to the instructional preparation, classroom management, grading, and student support responsibilities associated with teaching multiple classes each term.
- Experience formally or informally training/teaching students in a healthcare environment
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).
Master’s degree in Nursing and maintain expertise in one’s areas of responsibility, have at least three years of nursing experience, and hold a current unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Oregon at the time of hire and be able to acquire a Washington RN license within 6 weeks of hire.
OR
Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and maintain expertise in one’s areas of responsibility, have at least five years of nursing experience, and hold a current unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Oregon at the time of hire and be able to acquire a Washington RN license within 6 weeks of hire.
Current certification in CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers, or the ability to obtain it prior to the start of the term.
Pay: $73,911.00 - $78,408.00 per year
