Position Summary
Warehouse Associate, you will be responsible for efficiently and safely managing the storage, organization, and movement of goods within the warehouse. You will play a key role in ensuring that products are correctly received, stocked, inventoried, and prepared for shipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Receiving and Storing Goods:
Unload deliveries and verify items against purchase orders or shipping documents. Organize and store goods in designated areas according to inventory and warehouse guidelines.
2. Order Fulfillment:
Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipment, ensuring accuracy in order selection, packaging, and labeling.
3. Inventory Management:
Assist with maintaining accurate inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and report any discrepancies to the warehouse manager.
4. Equipment Operation:
Safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move and store inventory. Ensure proper maintenance and safety procedures are followed.
5. Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety guidelines and best practices to maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment. Report safety hazards to management.
6. Shipping and Documentation:
Prepare shipments for outbound transportation, complete required shipping documentation, and ensure timely dispatch.
7. Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other warehouse operators and departments to ensure smooth warehouse operations and timely fulfillment of customer orders.
8. Housekeeping:
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, ensuring that items are stored correctly and aisles are clear of obstacles.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment is preferred but not required.
- Skill: Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
- Basic knowledge of SAP or the willingness to learn.
- Forklift certification preferred, but training may be provided.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods. Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Associate's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field
- 1+ years of experience in warehouse operations or related field
- Experience with inventory management software
- Experience in a chemical manufacturing or hazardous materials handling environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
