Duties
- Develop and implement engaging curriculum plans that promote literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning tailored to preschool-aged children
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence
- Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement strategies and effective behavior management techniques
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about children's progress, milestones, and any concerns, fostering strong home-school connections
- Conduct assessments of child development using standardized testing methods to monitor progress and inform instruction
- Incorporate early intervention strategies for children with special needs or developmental delays, ensuring individualized support
- Maintain compliance with mandated reporting laws and ensure child welfare standards are consistently met
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in a preschool or daycare setting is required, with demonstrated classroom management skills
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, early intervention practices, and special education accommodations is highly desirable
- Experience in curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing literacy education is essential
- Familiarity with classroom experience involving toddlers and preschoolers, including daycare experience or private school teaching roles
- Strong communication skills for effective parent engagement and team collaboration
- 40 hours with DCF required
- Proven ability to work within mandated reporting laws while maintaining a nurturing environment focused on child welfare

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
