Scope of Role:
This role is key member of our packaging team responsible for supporting the flow of materials throughout the facility. The role serves as a key link between warehouse, production, and inventory teams to ensure uninterrupted production and efficient warehouse operations.
Hours of Work:
- Monday through Friday
- 1st Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm
- 2nd Shift: 3:30pm – 1:00am
- May be required to work mandatory overtime, including weekends and holidays, up to 55 hours per week, due to fluctuating business needs. The company provides as much advanced notice as possible when this occurs. Employee may consent to work up to 60 hours per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Operating stand up electric forklift.
- Completing forklift inspections before each shift.
- Loading and unloading trucks and storing materials in proper bin locations.
- Staging and transporting raw materials to packaging workstations.
- Identifying damaged materials and report shortages.
- Working with the inventory team and assist with cycle counts as needed.
- Communicating between warehouse, packaging, and inventory teams throughout the day.
- Overseeing and managing material warehouse with little direction.
- Assisting with physical inventory on Saturdays at the end of the month.
- Following all safety policies for personal safety of self and team members. May require personal protective equipment based on work assigned.
- Following Good Manufacturing Practices for the quality and safety of food products, including wearing a smock and hairnet in packaging areas. Requires removal of jewelry and cosmetic accessories (false eyelashes, artificial nails, etc.).
Physical Demands:
- Frequently stand and walk throughout the shift.
- Regularly use hands and arms to reach, handle, and operate equipment and tools.
- Frequently communicate with team members and hear verbal instructions and alarms.
- Occasionally sit, climb, balance, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Regularly lift and move items up to 10 lbs.
- Frequently lift and move items up to 25 lbs.
- Occasionally lift and move items up to 50 lbs.
- Must have the ability to see clearly at close and long distances, maintain peripheral vision and depth perception, and adjust focus as needed to safely perform job duties.
Working Conditions:
- Working around loud packaging equipment with moving mechanical parts.
Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience using stand-up forklifts.
- Experience with order picking.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Food manufacturing experience highly preferred.
- Experience with RF scanners preferred.
