FUNCTIONAL BEHAVIORAL ASSESSMENT (FBA) TRAINING CERTIFICATE. (MYODP)
This interactive, web-based Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) training aims to ensure a level of competency among clinicians who are conducting FBAs across the Commonwealth. The training focuses on the assessment and replacement of challenging behaviors, as well as the development of a treatment or behavior support plan that can be used across settings and across the lifespan.
The examples, tools, and strategies outlined in this training are applicable to supporting individuals from childhood through adulthood. The learner will be able to download a variety of direct and indirect assessment tools that they can put into practice immediately.

Job description
Harmonious Life Systems, LLS seeks Behavior Specialists to provide clinically-oriented behavior supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or mental health diagnoses. The Behavior Specialist will work closely with treatment teams to develop holistic behavioral support using a person-centered approach. This systemic approach requires participation in a multidisciplinary team and staff, families, and caretakers' training.
Essential Duties and Functions
- Collect and evaluate behavioral data (historic and current).
- Conduct comprehensive functional assessments of presenting issues
- Observe participants in various settings to develop clinically oriented behavioral support plans.
- Actively participate in treatment team meetings, ensuring a person-centered approach to care.
- Train participant’s team on the implementation of behavioral support and crisis intervention plans
- Implement activities and strategies identified in the behavioral support plan.
- Monitor implementation of the BSP providing revisions and training as needed.
- Conduct ongoing assessments (quarterly) to determine progress on goals
- Communicate results to team members and adjust the plan as indicated.
- Provide quarterly behavioral updates including visual representations of progress toward desired behaviors
- Provide authorized Behavioral Support Services (BSS) as outlined in individuals' ISPs.
- Provide emergency consultation in crisis situations.
- Attend and actively participate in team, clinical and outside meetings, and supervision as directed.
- Attend training as needed.
- Model team approach by remaining consistent with plan and intervention.
- Track and report billable hours and ensure that hours do not extend beyond approved ISP units.
- Provide justification for a number of units or an increase in units requested for behavior support in an individual's ISP.
- Represent the program in a professional manner and model leadership and boundaries with staff and consumers at all times.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written form.

- Ability to engage clients and staff in effective, therapeutic, and healthy interactions.
- Ability to think holistically and creatively.
- Strong organizational, clinical, and interpersonal skills.

- Must have a valid driver's license.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Social Work, Counseling, Education, or closely related Human Service field from an accredited university.
- Two years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is a plus, as is coursework or experience working with people with special mental health needs and/or dual diagnoses.
- One year of Experience completing Functional Behavioral Assessments as well as implementing Behavior Support Plans guided by Positive Behavior Supports.
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is a plus.
- Complete upon Hire Bureau of Autism Services (BAS) SPeCTRUM 2.0 online training
- Complete upon hire BAS Online Behavior Specialist training.
- Complete Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) training (posttest certificate required) upon hire.
- Complete upon hire BAS Behavior Specialist Training 101/102/Assert 1224
