American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Step Down/Telemetry position requiring EPIC experience and a stable chronic ventilator background.
-
Work in the Step Down/Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
-
Care for cardiac, neurological, and stepdown patient populations including CVA and neuro stepdown cases
-
Targeted patient ratios of 1:4, with potential for 1:5-6
-
Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
-
36 or 48 hour weekly contract options available
-
Requires floating within the hospital or to nearby Premier Health facilities based on census and skill set
-
May float to main campus (Dayton), south campus (Centerville, less than 10 miles), or north campus (Englewood, less than 15 miles)
-
Every other weekend and holiday work required

EPIC EMR experience required
-
Active OH or compact RN license required
-
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
-
IV Start experience preferred
-
Minimum 1.5 years of nursing experience required, with some Level 1 or 2 trauma experience preferred

Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
-
Teaching hospital experience preferred
-
Previous charge nurse experience preferred
-
Experience with stable chronic ventilator patients required
-
Must pass an online EKG telemetry competency assessment prior to starting the assignment
-
Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip management preferred
-
Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care, and interpretation of ABGs
-
Skilled in central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care/management
-
Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
-
Travel nursing experience preferred
-
Candidates with any past license disciplinary action will not be accepted

Provide comprehensive stepdown-level nursing care including cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, and emergency response
-
Manage patients on chronic ventilators as well as those requiring telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management
-
Participate in rapid response and code team activities as needed
-
Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract due to low census
-
Facility reserves the right to cancel the assignment with 2 weeks' notice
-
Maximum of 14 days RTO allowed per contract, must be requested at time of submission with no additions after offer
-
Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted for this position
-
Previous PERM/PRN staff or prior agency travelers not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before reapplying, subject to facility rehire approval

Up to 24 hours of orientation modules are billable
