Canfield Engineering & Integration is seeking an experienced Construction Field Coordinator to serve as our on-site presence for a large electrical and I&C project in the greater Phoenix area. This is a full-time, field-based position working directly alongside the construction crew. This role will serve as the day-to-day link between the design team and the contractor, ensuring work is installed per design intent, issues are resolved quickly, and the project stays on track. We support municipal and industrial clients across a wide range of plant operations and safety projects. We do not work in residential construction.
Responsibilities:
- Attend daily field operations; serve as the owner’s representative on site full-time
- Review and respond to RFIs and contractor submittals in coordination with the design team
- Conduct site inspections and verify installed work against design drawings
- Identify and document field conditions, deviations, and punch list items
- Coordinate directly with the contractor’s foremen, superintendent, and project manager
- Track open issues and drive timely resolution with the design team and contractor
- Provide daily/weekly field reports and photo documentation to the project team
- Communicate field conditions and change order scope to the Project Team
- Perform any other duty or task as requested by the Project Resource Manager
Education and experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on electrical construction experience — journeyman electrician, foreman, or contractor project manager background strongly preferred
- Comfortable reading and interpreting single-line diagrams, schematics, conduit/raceway drawings, and P&IDs
- Familiar with RFI and submittal processes from the contractor or owner’s representative side
- I&C or controls construction experience is a strong plus
- Construction management background a plus; engineering degree not required
Skills:
To thrive in this role, you’ll need the following:
- Familiarity with electrical construction installation, sequencing, and inspection processes
- Strong written and verbal communication; able to work effectively with field crews and engineering staff alike
- Ability to represent the project owner professionally with contractors, clients, and inspectors
- Comfortable using basic computer tools for documentation, reporting, and submittal tracking
- Ability to work under pressure
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
