Hotel Housekeeper Job Description

Position Summary
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining clean, comfortable, and welcoming guest rooms and public areas in accordance with hotel standards. This position plays a key role in ensuring guest satisfaction by providing exceptional cleanliness, attention to detail, and professional service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean and service assigned guest rooms according to hotel brand standards.
- Make beds, change linens, and replace towels and guest amenities.
- Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, and sanitize guest rooms and bathrooms.
- Clean mirrors, windows, fixtures, furniture, and other room surfaces.
- Remove trash and replenish room supplies as needed.
- Inspect rooms to ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper working condition.
- Report maintenance issues, damaged items, and safety concerns to management promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness of guest hallways, public areas, and housekeeping storage rooms.
- Operate housekeeping equipment safely and according to company procedures.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection-control guidelines.
- Secure guest property and maintain confidentiality of guest information.
- Assist with laundry operations or special cleaning projects as assigned.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping, cleaning, or hotel experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent reliability, attendance, and work ethic.
- Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor.
- Basic communication skills in English; bilingual skills are a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to operate housekeeping carts, vacuums, and other cleaning equipment.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments throughout the property.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced hospitality environment.
- May be required to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on business needs.
- Regular exposure to cleaning chemicals and housekeeping equipment.
Performance Expectations

- Complete assigned rooms and tasks within established productivity guidelines.
- Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.

Pay: From $14.00 per hour
