Jackson Heights Christian Academy is a faith-based childcare center and school that takes educating children to heart. With over 20 years of experience, JHCA is looking to hire someone that is energetic, excited, enthusiastic, and creative. The ideal candidate must be caring, patient, and have a love for children. He or she must understand the stages of child development and have the ability to adapt the teaching style to match the appropriate level. The workweek includes Monday - Friday. Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pre-K Teacher to join our team. As a Pre-K Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the social, emotional, and intellectual development of young children. Your role will involve planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, providing individualized attention to each child, and fostering a love for learning.
Duties:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with the developmental needs of preschool-aged children
- Create engaging lesson plans and educational activities that promote cognitive, physical, and social-emotional development
- Provide a safe and supportive learning environment for all students
- Monitor and assess each child's progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with parents to ensure open communication and involvement in their child's education
- Maintain accurate records of students' attendance, progress, and development
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages creativity, curiosity, and respect for others
- Implement strategies to manage behavior effectively and promote positive social interactions among students
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development for preschool-aged children
- Experience working with students with special education needs is preferred
- Understanding of child welfare guidelines and regulations
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to educate and engage young learners in a variety of subjects
- Knowledge of literacy education strategies for early childhood development
- Proficient in providing toddler care in a daycare setting
- Experience working in a childcare or educational setting
