Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care across various settings, including long-term care, assisted living, hospitals, and home care environments. This role requires a strong commitment to patient safety, comfort, and dignity, with the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, and complex medical needs. Experience with EMR/EHR systems and knowledge of medical terminology are highly valued. The CNA will play a vital role in supporting clinical staff and ensuring optimal patient outcomes through attentive caregiving and accurate documentation.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
- Support medication administration under supervision and ensure proper documentation in medical records.
- Provide specialized care for patients with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or memory impairments in memory or behavioral health settings.
- Maintain infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Assist with catheter care, wound care, and other clinical procedures as trained.
- Support patients in rehabilitation or post-acute care environments, including skilled nursing facilities and outpatient clinics.
- Document patient information thoroughly using EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Respond promptly to patient needs and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification required; additional experience preferred in areas such as ICU, emergency medicine, geriatrics, behavioral health, hospice care, or post-acute settings.
- Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, seniors in assisted living or nursing homes, individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized caregiving.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and physiology knowledge necessary for accurate documentation and patient care.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) certification is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work compassionately with patients experiencing complex health conditions such as infectious diseases or trauma cases.
- Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical records management.
- Ability to work flexible hours in various healthcare settings including inpatient hospital units such as Level I Trauma Centers or PICU units. Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
