Join Young Moms Together and Make a Lasting Difference
Do you feel called to create safe, nurturing spaces where young people can heal, grow, and build stronger futures?
Young Moms Together is seeking a compassionate, steady, and emotionally mature House Parent to serve as a live-in mentor and supportive adult presence for pregnant and parenting youth and their children. This is a unique opportunity to live onsite during your shift and help create a warm, family-style home where young moms feel respected, supported, and empowered.
Each of our homes serve just three residents and their babies at a time, allowing for meaningful connection, individualized support, and a truly relational approach to care.
About the Role
As a House Parent, you will help foster a home environment centered on safety, structure, encouragement, and dignity. You’ll support young moms ages 14–21 by modeling healthy routines, positive parenting, emotional regulation, communication skills, and everyday life management.
This role is ideal for someone who is warm, patient, grounded, and able to balance empathy with firm, healthy boundaries and structure. If you are a natural mentor who believes in the resilience and potential of young families, we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will build safe, trusting relationships with residents while helping create a home where they feel welcomed, cared for, and safe. You will partner with the young mom's Success Coaches to facilitate developing routines, confidence, and healthy habits, while modeling communication, problem-solving, and emotional regulation.
You will also provide guidance in everyday life skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, scheduling, and parenting. In the home, you’ll help maintain a clean, organized, and calm environment, assist with meals and household routines, and offer practical and emotional support during stressful moments.
House Parents also play a key role in reinforcing child safety, nurturing care, trauma-informed practices, and parenting approaches aligned with Parents as Teachers principles. In addition, you will maintain daily supervision, support crisis prevention and conflict resolution, participate in staff communication and shift handoffs, and document observations and daiy case notes in the case management system.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a critical thinker who can make quick, values-based decisions. The ideal candidate is compassionate, dependable, emotionally intelligent, and professional, bringing steadiness and encouragement to a shared home environment while remaining committed to trauma-informed, strengths-based care.
