Your job purpose :
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager and the Production Team Lead, the Maintenance Mechanic combines technical expertise with operational reliability to optimize production workflows. This role ensures the optimal functioning of all production equipment through proactive, preventive maintenance, rapid response to line stoppages, efficient resolution of equipment malfunctions and leading continuous improvement projects. Acting as a key resource, the Maintenance Mechanic manages troubleshooting, equipment assembly, and installation, collaborating with suppliers' technical support to address complex issues—particularly with specialized machinery such as Hinterkopf printers.
As a valuable resource for both Hybrid Technical Specialists and Production Operators, the Maintenance Mechanic strengthens team capabilities by sharing best practices, documenting troubleshooting procedures, and expanding operators' technical knowledge. By refining maintenance processes and troubleshooting methods, this role is essential in meeting Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) targets, minimizing downtime, and ensuring consistent production output in a high-paced environment.

How you will make an impact:
- Ensuring all production equipment is functioning properly;
- Responding to tech intervention tickets;
- Resolving equipment malfunctions;
- Completing maintenance of equipment;
- Assembling and installing new equipment;
- Ordering and returning parts from/to suppliers;
- Sharing of best practices to a team of technical specialists and operators;
- Work with production to improve maintenance & troubleshooting processes;
- Use technical troubleshooting and hands-on equipment operation to minimize downtime and maximize production numbers;
- Interfacing with the supplier's technical support team to resolve high level malfunctions;
- Instructing operators how to resolve equipment malfunctions and equipment faults;
- Capturing and recording work procedures and troubleshooting procedures;
- Collaborating with other production team members;
- Troubleshooting the printers and all other equipment;
- Ensuring the production line is up and running by blending technical knowledge with active machine operation and production support.
Knowledge and skills required
- Get ahead of the game if you have a degree in engineering;
- Experience in Project Management is a key asset;
- Competent technical knowledge;
- At ease with cloud based tools (strong knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software);
- Ability to multitask;
- Attention to detail;
- A proactive approach to support;
- Reliable and resourceful ;
- Autonomous and adaptable;

Salary Range: $30 - $32 Hourly
