Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and passionate Group Fitness Instructor to lead engaging, motivating, and effective fitness classes for diverse groups of participants. In this role, you will design, deliver, and adapt group exercise programs that promote health, wellness, and community engagement. Responsibilities
- Lead bootcamp and/or cycling classes with enthusiasm and professionalism.
- Develop innovative workout programs tailored to different skill levels and fitness objectives, incorporating principles of biomechanics, physiology, and body mechanics.
- Ensure participant safety by demonstrating proper technique, manual handling practices, and correct use of equipment.
- Monitor class participants for signs of fatigue or distress; provide modifications or assistance as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized workout environment; regularly inspect equipment for safety compliance.
- Stay current with industry trends by participating in ongoing education related to fitness programming, sports coaching, CPR/AED certification, first aid, and health club standards.
- Foster a welcoming atmosphere that encourages motivation, teamwork, and personal achievement among all members.
Experience
- Proven experience in fitness center environments or gym settings with a strong background in group fitness instruction.
- Knowledge of biomechanics, anatomy, physiology, and strength training principles to effectively design safe and effective programs.
- Certification in CPR/AED and first aid is required; additional certifications in personal training or sports coaching are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to teach diverse populations with varying fitness levels through clear communication and coaching skills.
- Familiarity with program development, body mechanics, weight handling in the workplace, and health club operations enhances effectiveness in this role.
- Prior experience with program design for group fitness classes or personal training sessions is preferred.
